A quiet neighborhood- a dog barks in the distance. A mild breeze soothes the day’s anxieties. Dusk approaches, and with it, the looming curfew. The phone rings—a family member or friend checking in, ensuring you’re safe. This is the new normal: safety checks, a ritual born of necessity in uncertain times. That’s what we do now. It’s not safe outside and safety checks among family and friends have become normalized ritual in everyday life.

Breaking the silence– THE SIRENS SOUND OFF throughout the city with a harrowing atmospheric, banshee like whistle. It strikes fear in our hearts. 8pm– marshal law is in effect. Paper debris sails across an empty street. Not a soul to be seen. Suddenly, various vehicles roll into your neighborhood with jack-boot, violent thugs calling themselves law enforcement, brandishing assault weapons.

Everyone retreats inside-– lights out. The city is pitch black. The trees and cityscape are silhouetted by the strobe emergency lights. Moments later, scattered gun fire is heard around the neighborhood. They are on patrol– shading the city with a black veil of despair, fear, and helplessness.

The reality may seem exaggerated, but the facts remain. There is one reason they are here: to apprehend anyone they label as “undesirable.” This could be based on your beliefs, your words, or your citizenship status. No probable cause, no warrants, no crimes—just suspicion. And they are coming.

They know everything about you—where you live, work, and who your family is. When they detain you, they avoid identifying themselves, justifying their actions under the guise of “national security.” But what national security threat? The threat of being who you are, speaking truth to power, or simply doing your job? None of these are crimes, except in the eyes of those who demand conformity. And who are they? The United States government.

You might think, “This could never happen here.” But it can—and it is. Consider the Social Security “Dead File.” Republicans claim that fraud is being perpetrated through the Dead File— people receiving unauthorized funds. What they don’t tell you is, it’s a safeguard against fraud. This database of approximately nine million deceased individuals blocks transactions tied to their Social Security accounts. It ensures that financial activities linked to the deceased are intercepted. In essence, it erases the financial existence of those in the file.

Here’s the danger: if they decide you’re no longer wanted in the country, they could misuse the Dead File to destroy your financial and civil security. By placing your account in the Dead File, they make you invisible to the government. Suddenly, you can’t open a bank account, buy property, or even hold a job. Without a Social Security number, you’re locked out of essential systems. This isn’t just bureaucratic cruelty—it’s calculated. The goal is to make you leave the country on your own.

The Trump administration claimed to target only the “worst of the worst” among undocumented immigrants. Yet reports suggest otherwise. Legal immigrants with no criminal records have been deported without due process, simply for their opinions or ethnicity. They are pronounced guilty by suspicion.

Discussions between Trump and President Bukele of El Salvador even hinted at sending U.S. citizens to Salvadoran prisons. Trump has also attempted to revoke birthright citizenship for children born to immigrant parents in the U.S. If your parents aren’t naturalized, then neither are you, according to this logic. As an American citizen, you could be dropped into the Dead File, detained without charges, and held in undisclosed locations—all without due process.

Student visas have been revoked nationwide, forcing foreign students to abandon their education and leave the country. This is not about security; it’s about fear and control– cruelty is the point.

The Trump administration’s actions have sown instability, fear, and despair among Americans. When did it become acceptable for the government to turn against its own citizens? Why the toxic masculinity, religious overreach, and hostility? The answer lies in Trump’s personal vendetta against dissent and his pursuit of domination.

There are too many questions and not enough answers. Facts are facts, yet they are often replaced with lies and fallacies. Now, the U.S. has a leader who bullies, extorts, and deceives, leaving everyone to pay the price for his corruption. Loyalty to Trump is demanded, and dissent is punished.

Is this the America you envisioned? Does this align with the promise of making America great again? Stay vigilant. Defend your rights. If not, you may find yourself searching for your own personal Jesus. As history repeats itself, that’ll be all you’ll have. The echoes of 1930s Germany are growing louder. The sirens are sounding—a clarion call for action.
